. . . not exactly, but Steve and I have been doing quite a bit of ice skating lately. It’s really good therapy for him and great exercise for the both of us! Friday night we went to Mt. Pleasant, Saturday we went to one of the many arenas in Grand Rapids, Sunday we came here to FSU. It’s so funny to go and people watch because you see everything. You see 3 year olds that have put skates on for the first time and their fathers (it’s always the father, I don’t know why) are out there teaching them. They are padded from head to toe and my child would be dressed the same way. Oh, anyway, all the way up to teenagers who are out there to impress the opposite sex. They soooo remind me of days of roller skating when I was a teenager and I’m so glad I no longer have to do that. Steve and I are always the oldest people out there without kids but that’s ok, it’s still fun. It’s amazing to watch how well the 6 year olds skate and it’s embarrassing that they completely show me/us up
Yesterday I had to take the afternoon off for a doctor’s appointment in Grand Rapids, so I went ahead and took the whole day off so we could go ice skating in the morning. Yesterday we went where the Detroit Redwings farm team, The Grand Rapids Griffins practice. That was cool to know that we were skating where future pros skate. Also, yesterday we pretty much had the ice to ourselves and that was nice. We didn’t have to follow the rules and only go one way around the area, we were all over the place. I was able to skate hard because I didn’t have to worry about someone darting off in front of me and being unable to stop for them. I also was able to work on going backwards, turning and stopping. It was a fun morning.
My doctor’s appointment was to meet the surgeon for my Carpal Tunnel and that went much better than I expected. My surgery will be October 3rd but they have it so perfected now that I will only be out of the office for a week! (there goes that “vacation” I had planned). They can do it with a scope now so there will only be about a 1/2 inch incision, the brace will be removable and I’ll be able to resume normal activity pretty much right away. All good, I was really worried about how I was going to do the simplest things without the use of my right hand but now all those fears are gone. I really can’t wait to get it done, even typing this post has made my hand hurt, I’m ready to have it back!

i can’t come then to take care of you. you’ll have to reschedule!
